In the days 9 - 16 July 2017, Jensen & Bugge + Høirup go to the Faroe Islands to play a series of concerts in connection with "Fólkatónleikastevnan", the islands' own "traveling" folk music festival.

We play e.g. on the enchanted little island of Mykines (Myggenæs), and on Fugloy, as well as in Nordens Hus and at restaurant Hvonn in Tórshavn.

Finally, we finish at G! Festival, the Faroe Islands' second largest festival, which also partly takes place on the beach in the small town of Göta, where the fantastic Faroese singer, Eivør, comes from.

I have been to the Faroe Islands quite a few times now, and it has always been a fantastic experience to come there. The first time I was there with a small trio consisting of Joakim Friis-Holm from Bartof Café on harp and bouzouki, Venstrehånds-Jørgen Jeppesen on violin, and myself on guitar and singing, and since then I visited the islands with the violin and guitar duo Haugaard & Høirup, and not least several times with the folk/world band Himmerland.

I love coming to the Faroe Islands. There you meet many lovely people, wonderful nature, an absolutely fantastic food tradition, and an exciting cultural life in general - and then Tórshavn has the world's best fish 'n chips.

You can see a small video from the islands here! It is Eivør who is responsible for the music during the pictures.
